How Technology Makes a Difference for John’s Family During Cancer Treatment

Infants and toddlers should be experiencing the wonders of the world, but for John, a one-year-old from New York who was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia earlier this year, the road is not always filled with those early joys. John’s mom, the sole parent in the household of four children, was not able to work due to the frequent trips to the hospital for John’s cancer treatment. This brought increased stress on the whole family, including John’s siblings. When John’s mother brought him to the hospital, the other kids were often left at home for long hours to entertain themselves. John’s mom contacted us to request payment of their cable bills, which would not only keep John entertained when he was home, but also provide internet service and an easy way for the siblings to keep connected with their mother when she was with John.

Endure to Cure helped John’s family pay their cable bundle for the past several months, allowing them to have a home landline, cable, and internet. This enables John’s mother easily keep in touch with her other children while she and John are at the hospital, and the kids have another source of entertainment. This Small Miracle helped build a happier, less stressful environment for the whole household, which positively impacts John’s experiences during this time. John’s whole family showed their extreme gratitude for our help.

John’s mother had this to share: “We thank you Endure to Cure for all the support you have given our family by helping us with our utilities. It is very important to us because they help me keep kids entertained, safe, and most importantly help them keep up with their school work when they are away. Thank you very much.”
