Junior Becomes a Boston Celtics Ball Boy for a Day

Ronald, or better known as “Junior,” is a 16 year old boy. Junior had been experiencing an agonizing pain, and was taken into the emergency room and shortly thereafter, he and his family were informed that he has leukemia. This was a surprise to everyone because before this pain he had always been 100% healthy. Junior’s parents soon contacted us requesting tickets to a Boston Celtics game, as it would be a chance for Junior to get out and have a good time during a time of extreme stress.

We sent Junior to be a ball boy for the Boston Celtics game vs. Indiana Pacers on the legendary parquet floor. Along with his ball boy experience, Junior received three tickets to the game to bring a couple family guests and limo transportation, as well as a tour of the Celtics front office and an a meeting at center court with Celtics legend Cedric Maxwell.

I couldn’t believe I was throwing passes to every player on the Celtics team before a game. I felt like I was in a dream!

Junior had a blast. He told us afterward, “I could not believe I was throwing passes to every player on the Celtics team before a game! I was really nervous at first, but they were fun to work with. It felt like I was in a dream. Thank you to Endure to Cure.”

Junior’s mom shared this about the Small Miracle: “Junior and his guests had an amazing time being a ball boy for the Boston Celtics. He has been talking about it ever since he got home and it was such a relief for us to see him so happy in the middle of his challenging cancer treatments. We cannot thank Endure to Cure enough for making such a special moment for him and our family.”
