Life sometimes throws us curve balls and it is up to us to figure out what to do with them. In May of 2011 I started a journey to make a difference in myself and other people.
My journey started by taking the initiative to lose weight. I have been overweight my whole life and it started causing medical problems including not being able to have children of my own. Everything began to spiral for me. I started by battling depression that had set in and I decided to make the commitment to not feel sorry for myself any more and take charge. I began making changes in my life and the way I live. I committed myself to self improvement in both personal and health, but most of all making a difference in other people.
Since starting my journey in May I have lost over 35 pounds to date (Sept 1, 2011), I am eating much different then I ever have. I am committed to the gym. But the best part of this all is being an encouraging example for others to make a change in there own life. Many people have said to me, "Renee you made me see that I can do this." A client asked me to help her daughter who has the same stuggle so she can make the change now and not 20 years from now. That right there made me realize it was all worth it.
Part of my goals now is to do a half marathon, I have never been a runner in my life but now I will do it I AM COMMITTED, my first half marathon is Oct 2, 2011 in San Jose at the San Jose Rock and Roll Half Marathon
My reason for becoming part of Endure the Cure is that they are working to make a difference in children’s life, and not having children of my own this is a even better reason to be involved. It is a great cause and it really makes a difference in their lives. My new goal in life is make a difference in me and you every day and I ask you to be a part of this journey with me by joining in the fight against pediatric cancer!
Thank you!
