Everyday brings a new challenge and conquering challenges is what makes my life so rewarding. For those of you who know me well, I am never satisfied with average. I am constantly trying to find new ways to expand my horizons and elevate my goals. In 2009, I set out to complete my first Ironman. At the beginning of the year, I could barely swim, was not too good on a bike, and the longest endurance event that I had accomplished was a marathon. Many of my friends and relatives told me that I was crazy, that I should try something smaller - but I was determined to succeed. I dedicated my weekends to training and woke up early to get in a run. I dialed in my nutrition and set my mind to succeed. On November 22nd, I crossed that finish line with a big smile on my face.
I am lucky that I get to choose my own challenges. For many people, challenges are just handed to them and they have no choice but to fight. This year, with the help of a great organization called Endure to Cure, I will be helping children with pediatric cancer to conquer the biggest challenge of all—the fight for their life.
For 2010 I have scheduled several marathons, triathlons, and century rides. I am asking for your help in donating $1.00 for every mile that I complete. For instance, for a marathon (which is 26.2 miles) I ask that you donate $26.20 to help children with pediatric cancer. While this is a guideline - any donation will be greatly appreciated. My goal is to raise $10,000 in 2010.
Here is my schedule so far:
Jan 23 - Diamond Valley Marathon - 26.2 miles
Feb 13 - Palm Springs Century Ride- 100 miles
March 7 - Palm Springs International Triathlon - 33 miles
April 11- SuperSeal Triathlon - 70.3 miles
May 8 - Big Rock Triathlon - 33 miles
June - Muddy Buddy - 6.2 miles
Nov - Silverman Iron Distance Triathlon - 140.6 miles
Please join me in the fight to fight Pediatric Cancer - one mile at a time.
Thank you so much for you support!
