Right now I feel like your average American. I am overworked and overweight. I sit on my couch and watch movies and T.V. of great adventures and dream of doing those great things. I am an insurance sales manager. I see people that are on disability or on social security that have quit living life and life on their couch in front of their television. I fear this. I see people that can no longer walk and I fear this. I have decided to get healthy. I have decided to conquer the world and live the fullest life possible.
The first step in my journey is to get healthy. When I started this spring, 2011, I was at 32.6% body fat. My goal is to get down to 14% body fat. I am not really concerned about actual weight, but just simply living a healthy lifestyle. On my journey in getting healthy I am setting up some achievement goals. The first achievement goal is to be able to run a 5K. I am by no means a runner, actually I have always hated running. But I associate being able to run a 5k one step towards bigger goals while running for a higher purpose. My next goals are to run a 10k, half marathon, and then a marathon. I would also plan to climb the Seven Summits.
I am so glad to team up with Endure to Cure. Many people in my family have won and lost the battles with cancer. I couldn’t imagine trying to fight cancer at such a young age. I am so glad that in my journey to make myself healthier, I can lend a hand in helping fight pediatric cancer. You can follow my journey via Facebook on “Price on Healthy Living”, please “like” the page and see my struggles and achievements. My goal in helping Endure to Cure is to raise $10,000 by next August when I climb Kilimanjaro. So ask yourself how much you can afford; $10, $100, $1000? You may not think $10 is a lot but if 100 people each give $10 then you’re looking at $1000! Your funds will go directly to help fund a pediatric cancer survivorship study at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital. You can learn more about it right here. Thank you!
