A Message from our Founder:
Historical statistics show that approximately 50% of men and 33% of women will get cancer at least once in their lifetime. With percentages like that, chances are very high that you have been or will be affected by cancer in one way or another. In my family, two of my beloved grandparents passed away from cancer. I have had young friends diagnosed with various forms of the disease and a former colleague who lost his battle with brain cancer at the young age of 50; the list goes on and on.
Cancer does not discriminate; it does not care about your age, race, sexual orientation, gender, or religion. But a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence. When combining proper treatment with hope, inspiration, and unwavering mental toughness, it can be conquered and lead to those inspiring stories that touch the lives of us all.
Endure to Cure Foundation was born out of my own cancer story. Previous to my grandfather losing his second battle with cancer in early 2007, he stoically asked me to carry on his spirit in my life. In fulfilling this request, I chose to embark on a physically and mentally grueling campaign of endurance activities with the goal of raising at least $3 million by the end of 2012. I chose pediatric cancer because of my love for kids and the unique challenge that kids who have been diagnosed with cancer have to overcome. Many of these courageous kids generally have neither experienced the simple joys of their youth nor have a deep well of experience, relationships, and mental fortitude from which to easily draw the necessary hope and strength. We at Endure to Cure and the members of Team Endure to Cure seek to be a source of hope and inspiration to kids fighting pediatric cancer.
In addition to carrying out my grandfather's request, we want to offer you the opportunity to challenge yourself to endure and conquer the mountains in your life! We offer this foundation as a resource to unlock your physical potential and accomplish things you previously never thought were possible while simultaneously making someone’s life a lot brighter! Further, we hope to unite people who are and have been affected by cancer. Finally, we believe the funds we raise together can ultimately make a markedly positive difference in the lives of the children who have cancer.
Thank you!
