About Us

Endure to Cure Foundation is incorporated as a non-profit corporation with 501(c)(3) status based in Chicago, IL, USA. Endure to Cure was founded in memory of two of our founder's grandparents who both died of cancer and also as a way to contribute, inspire, and give hope to kids who suffer from various forms of pediatric cancer. All proceeds donated to Endure to Cure will be given to one or several organizations that research, treat, and/or provide care for pediatric cancer patients. Importantly, we seek to maintain being in the top-tier among all charities for a ratio of donations that go to the cause (85% or greater).

 

The idea of Endure to Cure was inspired by a conversation between our founder, Jason Sissel, and his grandfather several months before he passed away. Combining his grandfather's request to carry on his spirit after he passed away with Jason’s love for children and passion for inspiring others, Endure to Cure was born. In May 2008, Jason resigned from a lucrative post-MBA job in order to follow his dream. His bottom line: life is too short not to take a risk and pursue your dreams; and there is no higher cause than love and service to others.

 

In order to establish Endure to Cure as a unique and best of breed cancer charity, Jason will embark on a one-of-a-kind, arduous endurance journey to start raising funds for the cause. He has figured out a way to transcend his dislike for distance running and now plans to complete a multitude of Ironman and Ultraman triathlons, climb the Seven Summits (the tallest mountain on each continent), cycle across the United States, with more to be added.

 

However, this journey is not his own, nor does he want it to be. We encourage YOU to join Team Endure to Cure and conquer the "mountains" in your own life! This could be as simple as just getting up off the couch and going out to exercise for an hour a day; or as complex as deciding to move up from running a 5k to completing your first marathon. New possibilities are born. Whatever your goal -- or your "mountain" -- we want to inspire you to reach the top.

 

If you're willing to accept the challenge and are ready to inspire others, we are ready to help you get there. Our program will not only provide you with a training plan, but also give you the opportunity to share your journey with a child who has cancer and inspire him or her to conquer their own battle. We invite you to be somebody's hero.
